Liverpool to Face Napoli in the Europa League Round of 16
A Rematch of the 2017 Group Stage Fixture
Liverpool will face Napoli in the Europa League Round of 16, a rematch of their 2017 group stage fixture. The Italian side visited the blue half of Liverpool in 2017 in the group stages of the Europa League leaving Goodison with a 5-1 victory. Liverpool will be looking to avenge that defeat when they host Napoli at Anfield in the first leg on March 9th. The second leg will be played in Naples on March 16th.
Liverpool booked their place in the Europa League quarter-finals after an emphatic 6-1 victory over Sparta Prague at Anfield on Thursday. Roberto Firmino scored a hat-trick, while Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Diogo Jota also got on the scoresheet. Napoli, meanwhile, advanced to the quarter-finals after beating Granada 3-0 on aggregate.
The match between Liverpool and Napoli is sure to be a close one. Both teams are in good form, and they will be confident of reaching the semi-finals. Liverpool will be looking to use their home advantage to take a lead into the second leg. However, Napoli will be no pushovers, and they will be looking to cause an upset at Anfield.
